Me: hey dad, you have to go grocery shopping with mom. there's nothing in the fridge.
Dad: oh, okay, can you wait until i eat a snack?
Me: there's nothing in the fridge.
Dad: just let me check.
*checks fridge*
Dad: oh, there really isn't anything to eat...
Me: yeah, i told you that. now go shopping with mom.
Dad: oh lets have pho tonight! that way, while we go shopping you can watch over the soup.
Me: there's nothing to make the soup out of.
Dad:...oh yeah, that's right.
